Chapter 5: The First Ritual
I found it odd how at ease I was when I was near Kubaba and Royden. The two seemed to have the oddest of relationship I had seen, and yet when it came down to business they both flew into action. Royden was a master of scaling anything, walls, rocks, roots, disintegrating earth, anything he could get his hands around. Anything that he left behind Kubaba quickly pounded back into place using his massive stature and hardened crystal body to literally crush walls of the place back into perfection. At moments he seemed to almost take too much time moulding pieces of the walls back together. But w

The impact was abrupt, unexpected, fast. The platform cracked, its centre off-balanced, the surface molecules rippled under us. The movement, it had been so quick, fast enough the evade my eyes. It was beyond reaction. Dust filled the air, choking the platform view before Ceria and I. The air swirled around us like a hurricane, breaking only for moments where I saw a metal chain being swung around, a chain with flails around its ends. I was striking at something, perhaps the air, perhaps only dust. The platform rocked, its mirror like surface having dissipated with the coming of the being

I imagine it would be difficult to describe time stopping. How everything around you simply ceased movement. Ice was death incarnate. It drew everything from you, warmth, movement, concentration, thought. Everything you became, when you were immersed, was completely based on the sudden reaction to the atmosphere and the sensation of your nerves freezing over. There was nothing to find here, nothing to want, need, or work towards, save for the brittle echoes of one trying to catch their breath.
My eyes clouded over several times, it was all I had to brush away the frozen tears and steam coll

It was but ten minutes before they returned. They didn’t wear any mask now, nothing to shield their face from mine, but instead wore something more insidious. Smiles, there were thanks, congratulations to be had. “I knew you of all the others would pull through first!”

"Matic, Lasta!" The cry of the lieutenant resounded. She had seemed ever so willing, the way in which her boots had collapsed upon the grit, so willing to join the efforts. The air crackled, with the gunfire in the distance. They had not been far from Sarajevo for only a two-mile radius had separated them from the traitors' den.
"Matic, Vid!" Another stepped forward, the man's boots had ground harshly to her right side. The shadow encompassed her being. This was a very large man. His eyes seemed glazed, uncaring now, not as he had once been. Both Lasta and Vid had been assigned to Sarajevo, an odd choice at best. They k

I’m a boy, or at least I think I’m a boy, I know that’s a strange way to start a story but it’s always the first thought that comes to my mind. Ritcher would probably light my insides on fire if he read what I was writing because he wants me to be more serious about what happened to us. His anger is not my own though, I feel fine as a human but I still question my sexuality. I know it sounds strange but I was raised in a laboratory, I had no parents and no friends until I met Ash.
At first I hated Ash, I thought he wasn’t prepared to own a creat

We always tried to remember those times, the ones where happiness and horror were mixed together in perfect harmony. The times when our leaders would help fight our own battles and we would return the favor by assisting them. I missed those days, as did many of my companions. Sweet sunlight filled with black magic, doesn’t that sound like a wonderful time? Who am I kidding, I love the heat. The smell of sweat and aching muscles because the heats to much, the screams of hell would fill my mind with joy and wonder. I always did love these thoughts, I don’t miss my trainer as much as the others do, freedom was my calling and I wish

It took almost everything out of me to not punch this man in the gut. How dare he walk into our household and bring up past problems? Today was so full of that old bastard I was glad he was dead. If he caused this much problems being away imagine him together with us. I noted to myself that he was right about one thing, mom leaving was the best thing she could have done. So instead of punching the hunched man I decided to calmly talk with him, man to man.
"So you knew my father huh?" It was the only question that came to my head that didn't seem rude. Of course I was also wondering why h
Hi everyone, I know that this looks strange, but, we are real. Who you might ask? That is not important, not now anyway. Where I come from, most of us are blind, for you see, darkness is everywhere. We live in it, we eat in it, we die in it. But that is our life.
But every now and then something different happens. Once I saw a light; small at first, more like a dot on the floor. Curiosity was stronger then my will, since now one had ever seen something like it. Others saw it too, and came running to have it for themselves. Many have tried to take it from me, but none could, one after the other they all have died by my hand.
Years have past
